Graduation rings

Once you graduate, you can get an LTHring. There is one ring for a Master's of Science in Engineering degree, one for a PhD degree and one for a Fire Safety Engineering degree.

Engineering rings

These rings require that you have been a member of Teknologkåren throughout your whole time studying at LTH.

When you receive your diploma from lth's office, you Teknologkårens or e-mail a certificate certifying that you have taken your degree to expen@tlth.se, where it is verified that you have been a member of the The Union throughout your study period. If you have been, a ring certificate is issued, with which you can obtain the ring. If you have had a study break or been abroad, please let us know so that you are not prevented from getting your ring out for this reason.

Birger Pellas designed the LTH ring and the LTH emblem in 1965.

The ring is now also available in a narrow version - the ring model that was created in 1996 at the request of LTH Students are now back in production.

The waiting time to receive your ring once it has been ordered varies greatly; the shortest waiting time is typically three weeks, but in spring, the waiting time can be much longer.

PhD rings

The approach to having a doctoral ring is different. The doctoral rings are managed by Lund University as part of the doctoral promotion. More information can be found on the university website: https://www.lu.se/om-universitetet/akademiska-hogtider/doktorspromotionen/infor-promotionen

Some tips for those who wish to acquire an LTHring

Do not try out the size at home with a tape measure! Test either at another silversmith to be sure to get the right size.

If you graduate one year and order the ring another year, make sure you get the correct graduation year engraved in the ring.

Make sure you have been a member of the Teknologkåren throughout your whole time studying at LTH when you wish to collect a ring certificate from Teknologkåren. If you have not been a member, you should have a certificate showing that you have had reason not to be a member.
