The 27 members of the Council are elected in the fall by Teknologkårens members in an open and general election. All Teknologkårens members studying at LTH are entitled to stand for election to the Council. The elections are managed by the Council Election Board and the votes are counted under the supervision of Teknologkårens inspector . the Representative Council is chaired by the President and the Secretary of the Council and meets approximately once a month during the semesters.

the Representative Council decides on Teknologkårens activities by annually adopting an operational plan and budget. the Representative Council is also tasked with revising Teknologkårens statutes and regulations as necessary. It is also the Representative Council that elects the officials responsible for implementing the established activities. The election of officers is prepared by the Teknologkårens Election Committee. In addition, the Representative Council elects all student representatives in LTH:s decision-making and preparatory body. These representatives have the task of presenting the Unions opinions on student union issues. If you think you would be a good fit for the Representative Council , make sure to run this fall! Ordinary elections to the Representative Council must take place by November 30th. The candidacy takes place five academic weeks earlier. The issues dealt with by the Representative Council are mainly prepared by the Union Board. If you want to raise an issue in the Representative Council , write a motion or a discussion paper and email it at least 12 reading days before the meeting to fm-handling@tlth.se.
