Secretary-General

Who are you?

Halloj halloj! My name is Oskar and I started studying technical physics at LTH in 2019. This year I sit as Secretary-General on Teknologkåren.

Why did you apply Secretary-General ?

To be honest, I applied to Sabbatical Officers because I was tired of studying and Secretary-General was the full-time position that suited me best. Furthermore, I felt that I wasn't quite done with student life. I am four years into the program and thus almost finished, but I felt that I was not really ready to become a real adult soon. A year as Sabbatical Officers was thus a perfect way to stretch it out a bit.

What's been the most fun in your term of office ?

I would say that the most fun part of my term of office has been all the activities with my amazing full-time colleagues. Everything from balls, teambuilding trips and when we revived the old tradition of the full-time staff participating in flyING.

What has been most instructive during your term of office ?

During my time as a GS, I have mainly learned more about how accounting can be done in practice. Furthermore, I have had to force myself to learn Excel, such as using formulas and so on. In addition, I have learned a lot about The Union because before I joined, I basically had no control at all.

What does your day-to-day business look like?

GS is probably the one Sabbatical Officers who spends the most time in the office, i.e. I'm not running around in meetings like many of my full-time colleagues. The biggest task is financial, such as budgeting, making sure that costs are booked correctly and reviewing the Unions income. Often it involves quite large amounts of money, which can be a bit scary but also very fun. Other tasks include supervising the full-time and the Unions employees together with President . I also manage the the Unions membership system and make sure you get your Mecenat cards.
