Head of External Educational Affairs (EU)
Who are you?
Hi! My name is Sofia, I'm 25 and I study W when I'm not working at The Union. On my Recreation I love hanging out with my friends, petting cats and playing games, preferably all at the same time!
Why did you apply for UE?
I am Head of External Educational Affairs, which means, for example, that I sit with students from the rest of Lund University and try to agree on what is best for Lund's students! I applied for the position partly because I was tired of studying, but also because I am interested in collaborating with other unions and providing better conditions for our students!
What's been the most fun in your term of office ?
Att träffa andra kårer! Både från Lund (det finns hela 8 andra studentkårer i Lund!) och från resten av Sverige. Det är väldigt spännande att se vilka olikheter som finns mellan oss och andra kårer, men hur mycket vi ändå har gemensamt. Med mitt jobb får man också resa ut i Sverige och lära känna många härliga människor vilket är superkul! <3 data-preserve-html-node="true"
What has been most instructive during your term of office ?
I have learned to procrastinate much less, which my grades will appreciate! I have also learned more about working with others, both my closest colleagues and "real adults" at the university. I have learned many other things that are part of an office job but also a lot about how student life is organized.
What does your day-to-day business look like?
I read a lot of documents to communicate the views of our union on different issues, so I get to be one of the first to see a lot of things happening at the university. I also get to talk to my colleagues in the office and discuss the Unions opinions on more complicated issues. Therefore, there are a lot of meetings with other people in the office - but my colleagues are great, so it's not a problem!
